If Your YouTube Channel Is Going Nowhere Fast Read THIS

This subtle but important mistake must be avoided...

When you think of Italy, what comes to mind?

You probably think of the Colosseum

Of delicious gelato

Or some mouth-watering pizza

Which are all things I experienced when I visited Italy in October with my Dad

Why am I bringing up Italy?

First, it was a great trip and this is an excuse to share a picture of it with you

But more importantly it is an example that we create associations between words

With Italy, it was gelato, rome, venice, pizza etc.

On YouTube, word associations matter too

And if you mess them up, you’re likely squashing the performance of your video

Here’s an example:

Upon first glace, it’s clear that this isn’t exactly a top performing video (sitting right now with just 29 views)

Could it be the topic holding it back? Maybe

Could it be the creators face repelling viewers? Maybe

But here’s a less evident mistake that could be pushing people away

The title of the video is “Ditch the Desk in 2024: Your Perfect Guide To Leaving the 9-5!”

Besides the fact that this is likely a ChatGPT title, the issue lies in it’s congruency with the video format

The title promises your “perfect guide”

But the video is only 3 minutes and 30 seconds long

Is that short of a guide really enough to help you ditch your job for good?

Hard to believe…

And right there is an example of how you can easily lose the interest of prospective viewers

The fix?

Match the format to the promise of the video

For example, a 30-minute, more in-depth video would have made more sense to an outside observer

At least prompting a click with the video quality having to do the rest of the work

This is just one example of errors that could be holding your own channel back

Ciao,

Adam
