Why You're Not Making Money On YouTube (And How To Fix It)

Another month of posting videos on YouTube goes by and once again you’ve made no money

Or maybe you made some money but it’s definitely but as much as you’d like it to be…

What I’ve come to realize after talking to 100s of creators is that most don’t understand how to make money on YouTube

If this misconception resonates with you don’t worry - I was once in your position

I used to think that to make good money on YouTube ($10k+ per month) you needed to get endless amounts of views

As someone who’s made 5-figures numerous times just based on ad revenue alone I can tell you that it is entirely possible

But it requires many factors to come together such as:

  • Creator Skill

  • Content timing

  • A High CPM Niche

If you’re missing any of these elements then making good money on YouTube from ads alone is basically impossible…

The good news is that not all views on YouTube are created equal

There are endless amounts of prank channels getting millions of views per month

And many are making at most $1,000 for their efforts

Then there are channels like my Six-Figure Tuber student Eric who gets less than 500 views per video

Yet he’s been able to use his channel to generate $1,000 days…

Do you notice something from the DM he sent me?

He didn’t say that he had a video go viral and he made all this money…

He said it was a combination of numerous monetization methods that lead to a $1,000 day

That’s the secret to YouTube monetization that people overlook

Your channel isn’t a repository of videos

It’s a means of promoting your products and services

When you view your channel from this perspective, making money becomes a breeze

This is why in Tube Freedom I walk you through how to:

  • Land brand deals

  • Set up affiliate offers

  • Create and host your own products etc.

I think @wono_strategy on Twitter said it best:

You’re either going to ad break your audience to death and ruin their viewing experience

Or you’re going to providing them useful products and services and…

  1. Make way more money

  2. Be of service to your viewers

Here’s a simple comparison of earning when relying on ads vs. selling assuming you generate 50,000 monthly views:

Ad revenue ($10 RPM): 50,000/1,000 x $10 = $500

Digital product ($25): 50,000 × 0.5% conversion rate x $25 = $6,250

One approach makes you enough for a night out with your girlfriend (mine has expensive taste - what can I say!)

One approach could pay you enough to go full-time on YouTube

That’s how much of a difference this approach to YouTube makes…

So how do you actually sell something on your channel?

The simple 3-step process is as follows:

  1. Pick a niche relevant offer

  2. Set up sales page

  3. Promote offer in video

With this approach to YouTube monetization, you’re closer to a full-time income on YouTube than you think…

Start playing YouTube on easy mode and implement this tactic today!

Until next week,

Adam
