The Valentine's day paradox

Understand this...

What does Valentine’s day mean to you?

It’s you’re a guy, it’s just another day

But if you’re a woman in a relationship

It’s time to celebrate your overflowing love…

Trust me, I had to learn this the hard way

As someone who’s been in a few relationships in my day

I learned early on that you have to take Valentine’s day seriously

Or else you will be hearing about it for weeks (or even months)

That’s why when I started to date my now wife

I had to pull out all the stops…

The first year, I decorated the house a Paris theme as it’s her favorite city in the world

The next year, I decorated it as NYC as we were heading there the upcoming May

The next year after that, I decorated the house as a cruise to symbolize our upcoming honeymoon cruise

And this year?

I took her out to an exclusive Valentine’s dinner event which served her all-time favorite dessert

Chocolate Lava Cake…

Why have my Valentine’s day festivities been such a hit?

Because I underpromised and overdelivered

And that’s what you need to be doing on YouTube

Take the following video as an example:

This video made a huge promise - to make 2025 your best year yet

But it also overdelivered

How you may be wondering?

First, it was published just as people needed it (the start of the new year)

Second, it shared really actionable tips that people could legitimately use to improve their lives in 2025

Not some common advice you can hear in any other video

But most importantly, it shared these tips in a short-timeframe making it very low-effort to watch

All of these elements, like all the creativity I put into my Valentine’s days, make for an overwhelmingly positive end result

Therefore, as you’re making your next videos ask yourself how you can go above and beyond

Because people are giving you their most precious resource every time they watch your videos - their time

So make it worth while

And if you do, people will be coming back video after video

Until tomorrow,

Adam
