The REAL Reason Your YouTube Videos Get No Views

I hate to admit it but I am a pretty bad social media scroller

When I grab my phone, I do a full scan of X, IG, Slack and my YT studio all in one go

And as I get older and a bit more self-reflective, I’ve noticed something interesting about my scrolling behaviour

It now takes a much more shocking headline or engaging video to get me to stop and watch

If you are a daily social media user then you’re probably in the exact same position

When I had this realization, it was a real unlock for me when it came to improving on YouTube

You see, most people are getting bombarded on social media every single day

Therefore, like you and I, they need extra stimulus to get engaged

And this is where many channel owners are missing the mark

They think that basic titles and thumbnails are going to get the job done

Sadly, they are wrong…

Take the following example, same topic, different thumbnails:

The former shows some unrealistic goo being used to get their hand to stick to the ball

With a very bright green background that highlights the imagery infront of it

The latter is a dark and hard to decipher thumbnail

Which is more appealing to the prospective viewer?

Clearly the first of the two videos…

Therefore, if you’re using proven ideation methods

And are still struggling to generate views like my wife struggles to open up the pickle jar

Then it’s time to increase the sensationalism of your thumbnails

Make it so your viewers feel magnetically drawn to your videos topic and packaging

And when you do, the views will start rolling in…
