The most profitable way to run a YouTube channel
Start doing this...
There's a popular saying in the world of personal finance that what's important is what you keep, not what you make.
Anyone can earn an income and go blow it the second their pay hits their bank account, but few have the discipline to use their incomes effectively to continuously increase their savings.
The same principle applies to YouTube.
It really doesn’t matter if you’re making $1,000 a month on YouTube, $5,000 a month on YouTube, $10,000 a month on YouTube, or more if all of that income is going into the expenses of your videos.
At the end of the day, YouTube is an amazing vehicle that anyone can use to build an income online. However, what really matters is how much that channel profits—more than how much it makes.
And it’s for this reason that if you want to maximize the income your channel earns, you need to select a highly profitable video format for your channel.
How do you go about doing this?
The first step requires you to understand the three elements that make up a video format.
These elements will dictate the time and financial investment that’s required to make your videos.
Think of these elements as those that make up the cost part of the video production equation.
Then there’s the income side of your video format, which relates to its ability to turn your videos into cash.
Select the wrong format, and you’ll struggle to gain any traction on YouTube.
Pick the right format, and you’ll be able to penetrate gaps in the market and lean into an endless pool of audience demand.
Sadly, no matter how often I share this principle, people question whether inexpensive, low-production-quality videos can perform well on YouTube.
And every time I hear feedback from a naysayer, I just send them the following channel:
John’s Money Adventure is a successful dividend investing channel that leverages VideoScribe to make its videos.

Right now, this channel is generating roughly 1,000,000 views per month, earning the channel owner roughly $10,000 from ad revenue alone.

The best part?
The animation software used to make these videos costs roughly $30 per month.
So, for the price of an extra-large pizza, you can literally be building a channel that can exponentially increase the income you earn each and every month.
This is the power of low-budget channels, which are predicated on understanding how video formats play into the overall profitability of your YouTube endeavor.
Like picking the right degree in college or aligning yourself with a life partner who has similar financial goals, your channel’s format is essential in your overall financial success on YouTube.
