The Aruba effect
Just do this...
It’s been just over a week since I returned home from Aruba
And let me tell you this - I miss it already…
You see, there’s something funny about Aruba
The roads are cracked
The service is slow
The island often loses power
Yet no one cares
You know why?
Because it’s always beautiful weather
Maybe you get a few minutes of rain in the early morning
But that’s it!
99% of the time it’s perfect weather
And let’s face it - that’s really the main reason people visit
Well, the same principle applies to YouTube
You really only have to get one part of the video on point for it to take off
What is that one component?
The idea…
Take for example recent videos on this past Superbowl
It didn’t matter if you were using high-def animations on your videos
Or recording yourself on your camcorder
If you were talking about the Superbowl people were interested
Why?
Because at the time it was a high-demand topic
And quite frankly, learning which topics to ideate around is 80% of the work
Get this right, and you’ll automatically position your videos for more views
Get this wrong and no matter how well scripted your video is
No matter how awesome your packaging is
Your video will not take off
So in the same way where Aruba just has to keep up the beautiful weather to be a desirable destination
You as a channel owner just need to ensure that the topics you’re selecting are:
A) In-demand
B) Low supply
Meet these two criteria and you’re off to the races
Until tomorrow,
Adam
