The $0 vs. $10,000/mo YouTube mindset

I’m not sure why but everyone seems to have this weird fixation on making $10,000 a month

Maybe it’s because it signifies making six-figures

Or maybe it’s just a nice round figure - I don’t know

But what I do know is that there is a huge difference between a creator making $0 on YouTube

And one making this highly sought after $10,000 a month

Curious what that difference is?

I was too until I built my first $10,000/mo channel and experienced it first hand…

So let me break it down

If you’re a $0 per month YouTube channel owner

There are certain traits or behaviors that you probably embody

First, you’re highly skeptical if this YouTube thing can even make you money

But more importantly, your focus is totally out of whack

You are hyper fixated on tools, channel banners and upload timing

This means that you’re literally focusing on those minor elements that maybe move the needle 1%

The $10,000 a month channel owner is different

They don’t give a shit whether or not they have a banner

And certainly don’t care to learn about the “100 best YouTube tools for 2025”

They are only focusing on the highest leverage elements of a channel

That’s things like market supply, monetization potential and team building

Put another way, the newbie channel owner focuses on how to salt the fries

Which doesn’t even matter if you have no one coming into the restaurant…

The expert spends 90% of their time focusing on how to cram as many people into that restaurant as possible

Now sure, there are other aspects that contribute to your income levels on YouTube

Things like skill and patience are absolutely part of the success pie

But I am going to assume you’re willing to learn and understand that YouTube success doesn’t happen overnight

So if you’re looking to get your channel off the ground this year

Only focus on the 20% of things that provide 80% of the results

Doing so will drive you forward faster and make 2025 your highest earning year on YouTube yet
