How to spy on your YouTube competition (ethically)

Here's how you do it...

Have you ever watched a James Bond movie before?

To me, this is one of the best movie series that has ever been made.

And if you've ever seen them before, you may even agree.

I mean, isn't it cool, all the little gadgets and gizmos that James Bond has, that he's able to use to neutralize his most feared enemies?

Well, you'll be happy to know that you're actually more like James Bond than you think.

Now, you may not have an Aston Martin or a really expensive suit, but you do have the ability to use particular tools to spy on your competition and use them to grow and monetize your YouTube channel faster.

One of the tools that you can use to do this is View Stats.

If you're unfamiliar, View Stats is a Google Chrome extension that was created by MrBeast and has numerous functions that can allow you to optimize your YouTube strategy.

While this tool can allow you to see the progression of a video's views over time and an estimate of how much money that video has made, these are not really the features that will allow you to spy on your competition.

There are two in particular that will do most of the heavy lifting when it comes to this sneaky endeavor.

The first is spying on a channel's packaging changes to date.

When you open up the extension, what you're able to do is see the edit history of both titles and thumbnails of a particular video.

This feature is most optimally used when reviewing the videos of competitors in your niche.

You can see which titles resonated well with an audience like yours and which didn't.

The same idea goes for the video's thumbnails.

What you want to do is identify titles or thumbnails that have elevated a video's viewership right after making a particular change.

It's these components that you can then use on your own channel to streamline your results and get your channel further ahead.

But that's only one of the sneaky features that this tool allows you to use.

The View Stats tool also allows you to see a video's rankings compared to the last 10 videos that the channel has released.

For instance, if you come across a competitor's video that's the worst-performing video out of the last 10, then it may not be a topic that you want to invest your precious time and money into.

However, if you see that a recent video is an absolute breakout one out of 10, then jumping on that top-performing trend as soon as possible may allow you to enjoy your own outlier video on your channel.

The craziest part about this tool is that accessing these features I've just mentioned is absolutely free.

And given that this tool is still rather new, employing these features as soon as possible will give you the most amount of advantage in the market and will allow you to progress further on your channel than you likely ever have before.

So, if you're willing to tap into the James Bond character and ethically spy on your competition, then give this tool a try and let me know how it goes.

Until tomorrow,

Adam
