Use this strategy to make your videos irresistable
Have you ever had friends go out to the bar while you stayed at home?
And then you find yourself sitting there with immense amounts of FOMO
By the way FOMO, if you’re unfamiliar, is the Fear of Missing Out
And it arises within us when we sense that others are enjoying or experiencing something that we lack
In the example of our friends going out
They are having fun and are building memories
Which is something we are forgoing by not being there with them
Well, beside putting you in a bad mood on a Saturday night
FOMO can also work to engage viewers on YouTube
And when I say this strategy works
I damn well mean it…
Here’s an example of a video employing FOMO:
For context, this video has 10x more views than any other high performing video on the channel
Why?
Because it’s leveraging an immense amount of fear of missing out in its title
“The Editing Goldmine You’re MISSING” is indicative that someone (the creator) knows a powerful way to edit great videos
And you (prior to watching the video) are lacking this golden nugget of information
Who likes to feel like an outsider looking in?
Nobody…
That’s why over 400,000 people decided to click on this video
And negate those feelings of missing out
But maybe this video was a fluke instance…

Seems like more fear of missing out to me (proven to work with 104k views in 3 days)
The takeaway?
Imply to prospective viewers that there is a gap between where they are now and where they want to be
And that the content you’re making provides the silver-bullet solution…
