What makes someone click on a YouTube video?

Boredom?

Thumbnail Design Quality?

A picture of a hot man or woman? (likely in some cases…)

After studying 1,000s of thumbnails on top performing videos I’ve found one commonality

One feature that allows these videos to trigger the brain centers of viewers

And practically force them to click on a video and watch…

I could just tell you what that element is but I’ll let you guess

What do these two thumbnails both have in common?

Yes! You guessed it! They both took about 20 minutes to find on YouTube

Just kidding…

Look closer and you’ll see that they both prompt massive amounts of intrigue

In these examples, intrigue is prompted by blurring out the something antagonistic

For example, a text you may be sending a romantic prospective that is turning him or her off

Or a food that when consumed can dramatically lower the inflammation you’re experiencing

But it goes one level deeper…

Not only does this packaging make someone curious

But it also leads on to a solution of a pain point (or problem)

Problem: Trouble getting positive responses from guys/girls

Solution: The right way to text him/her

or

Problem: Bodily inflammation

Solution: Food to reduce or eliminate inflammation

The truth is that you don’t have to spend $100s on a thumbnail

Or become a graphic designer to make people click

You just have to position your packaging to make people want to know more
