What no one tells you about making money online
More people should be talking about this...
Do you know what a bamboo tree and making money online have in common?
No, it’s not that they’ll both have you seeing green.
It’s that both a bamboo tree and making money online follow similar growth patterns.
And the sooner you realize this on your own making money online journey, the easier it will be to achieve the results you desire.
You see, the biggest issue people have when trying to make money online is not understanding the journey they’re about to embark on.
Most people think their journey will take a similar path to that of their education and career, where every single year you move one linear step forward.
However, this is rarely the case.
Making money online follows the same trajectory as that of a bamboo tree.
A bamboo tree grows in the following fashion:
After the seeds are planted, it begins to spread its roots underground.
However, for years it can appear to be stagnant, without much to show for the time that has passed.
Then, during its growth period, it can grow as much as two feet per day, exploding into its final form.
The same goes for making money online.
Particularly in the context of YouTube, you can spend months or years learning how to make high-quality videos.
Once you do, then all it takes is one single video to take your channel to the next level and for you to unlock a reliable stream of income for the future.
Sadly, most people quit their YouTube journeys before the real growth happens.
In fact, if you were to interview many of the most successful YouTube channel owners right now, it’s very likely they had failed with other channels in the past or other business models in general.
And it was only after sticking with one business model for months or years that they were able to see the success they’ve now achieved.
Now, why is it important to share this common element between a bamboo tree and making money online?
Because the difference between your expectations and reality dictates your motivation and overall perception of the situation you’re in.
For instance, if you expected your YouTube channel to hit 100,000 subscribers in one year and you only got to 99,000, you’d be disappointed.
However, if you expected it to take three years to hit 100,000 subscribers and it took you two, you’d be thrilled.
Therefore, understanding the growth trajectory of starting your own online business is essential to your overall success, as it allows you to manage how you perceive the progress of your journey in a more realistic way.
Because at the end of the day, success in anything is guaranteed.
What’s not guaranteed is the time in which it’ll be achieved.
And if you’re hard-headed like me and never give up, no matter how tough things get, then building your own online stream of income is just a matter of time.
Until tomorrow,
Adam
