Why You NEED To Start A YouTube Channel In 2024

The other day a tweet in my corner of Twitter went absolutely viral

Causing a massive inflow of rude, judgmental and honest comments

Here’s the tweet that kicked it all off:

Now, you may be sitting there wondering why this tweet was so inflammatory

Let’s dive into that now as it directly ties to why you should be strongly considering starting a YouTube channel in 2024…

As you may know, posts on Twitter (X) tend to go viral when they amass a significant amount of comments (engagement)

Which was the case here…

Now, do you think that all the comments were in agreement with the Finance Guy’s opinion about making $75,000 a year?

If you read the comments under the tweet, nearly all of them are bashing his initial post saying that making $75,000 barely pays the bills

Or if living in a HCOL area, basically sets you under the poverty line

What’s funny (or not so funny) about this tweet is that back when I started my career in management consulting my first major goal was to make $75,000 a year…

Unfortunately, starting at $42,500, I had a LONG way to go…

And it was only after getting multiple annual 2% raises in a row that I realized that I’d be old and grey by the time I’d hit that $75,000 milestone

Fortunately, I’m not the most patience person and so this large discrepancy between my current salary and my ideal income at the time prompted me to start YouTube

And as they say, the rest is history…

As mentioned above, if you read the comments under this post you can tell that there is a growing need in people to make more money

Because as you very well know, $75,000 just doesn’t go as far as it used to be

This is why more and more people are starting to look into ways to make money outside their 9-5 jobs

The harsh truth is that cost of living is going up while incomes are frozen at 2010 levels

Meaning that you really have two choices:

1. Accept what you’re making now and do the best with what you have

2. Build another income stream and continue to grow financially

For me, the decision was easy - I HAD to make money outside my job

Which meant that I HAD to make YouTube work

Because I didn’t want to be limited by an income I couldn’t control

If I hadn’t taken that step to dive into YouTube I wouldn’t have been able to:

  • Stop my every day stressing over bills

  • Buy my financée her engagement ring

  • Bring my Dad to Italy last year

Now, maybe you are past the engagement phase of your life

Or maybe you don’t like gelato (small chance of that though!)

But having some extra income (whether it’s YouTube or anything else) never hurts

And gives you the option to control how you want to live your life

Instead of being told how to live it based on the size of your paycheck…

As we start a new week, I am opening 3 new spots inside Tube Academy

If you want to work with me to start growing and monetizing your own YouTube channel, email me back the word “tube” and I’ll send you the details

Let’s make this upcoming week a good one!

Talk tomorrow,
