I should thank my parents for this...

Here in Canada, we just had Thanksgiving

And as you know, at Thanksgiving it’s a time to well…give thanks

In a weird turn of events I’ve become more thankful for my parents than ever before

Why?

Let me explain

You see, the other week I had a call with a new Tube Academy student

As many do, he had questions around which niche he should center his channel around

While he had a few in mind, he was thinking about starting a channel talking about US politics

Seems like a smart idea given the upcoming election, right?

Logically, yes but in practice, it’s a pretty poor idea.

You see, lately anyways, YouTube has been taking down tons of US politics channels

Claiming that these channels are spreading false information.

Here an example of a channel that was making $10,000+ a month that was erased overnight

Devastating, right?

Fortunately, because I am constantly studying the market

And conducting masterminds with my other YouTube friends

I know what niches are problematic and which aren’t

So in this case I told my student to steer clear of this niche

As the risk of getting terminated was extremely high

So what does this have to do with my parents?

Looking back, my parents helped me avoid many wrong (and costly) moves in life

From avoiding bad partners, to sidestepping a lacklustre degree

It’s not always material items from your parents that help

But the wisdom that they provide that makes your life 100x easier

And it’s the same with YouTube

Getting the direction you need can save you $1,000s making videos

And years of your life pursuing a niche that will never work out

Because if you’re going to do something

You may as well do it right…
