I'm shocked how well this YouTube strategy works
You need to see this...
Do you know the two most boring things in the world?
Watching paint dry and accounting.
And yes, I’m allowed to say accounting is boring because I am a CPA.
However, despite how boring this topic is, it can generate a significant amount of views on YouTube.
And while I would imagine you don’t have aspirations of starting your own accounting-based YouTube channel, what you’re going to learn in this email will significantly increase your video performance—especially if you have domain expertise in the topic of your content.
To give you an example of leveraging authority on your channel to generate more views, let’s look at the channel Gabrielle Talks Money.
As you can see on her channel, she shares a lot of videos about common accounting strategies and questions, such as how to bookkeep and ways to save more money.
If you look a little closer, however, some of her best-performing videos are those where she positions her credibility ahead of the topic.
So instead of saying 2025 Tax Changes, she instead says Accountant Explains 2025 Tax Changes.
Because let’s face it: when you need medical help, you go to a doctor.
And when you need legal advice, you go to a lawyer.
Well, when you want to learn about taxes, it’s best to learn from someone who has the credibility and experience to support those needs.
Now, what if you’re not a CPA who’s in a position to give tax advice?
Can this strategy work for you?
Absolutely.
For instance, if you’re in the web design niche, you can use a title like Web Designer Explains the Best Website Tools for 2025.
If you’re running a tech-related channel and you’re an engineer, you can create a topic such as Engineer Explains Why Bridges Don’t Fall Down.
(Sorry, that last one is not the greatest topic example, but I think you get the point.)
Therefore, if you are creating an education-based YouTube channel and you have some amount of experience or expertise in the topic, then let your audience know it.
People don’t want to waste their time with unreliable information, and if you have good information to share with your audience, then let them know that you’re someone they can trust.
This little hack can make all the difference, and I hope you give it a try if it relates to you.
Until tomorrow,
Adam
