I love answering this one question

My fave...

Every day, my DMs are flooded with questions

Some leave me baffled like “can you run my channel for me?”

While others clearly signal people’s need for help like “I still haven’t picked a niche - help!”

Amidst these questions, there’s one that I love to answer

What is that question?

“Why should I start YouTube over X, IG, TikTok etc?”

To me, the answer is clear - YouTube

But, I know what you’re thinking

“of course you’d say YouTube Adam, but you’re bias!”

That’s a fair statement but here’s my argument for picking YouTube over the others

At a high level, all of these platforms are the same

You produce content, grow a following and monetize

However, not all of these platforms operate the same way

And only one of them (YouTube) outshines the others in this regard

You see, I have a modest sized IG and X account

And they are great social tools

But they are a grind

Missing even one day posting will cause your account to flounder

Meaning that you are on a perpetual treadmill when you decide to grow on them

I have to tweet every day

I have to make reels and carousels for IG daily

And quite frankly it’s exhausting…

On YouTube, things are different.

Your videos can be uploaded once and generate views for weeks, months or even years

Because if people keep watching when recommended, YouTube will keep pushing them out

In short, YouTube is the only platform where your content lives beyond a few days

And where your efforts now will reward you in the long term

To me, this is why creating either an on-screen or faceless channel is the ultimate move when aiming to build and monetize on social media

Otherwise, you’ve basically built yourself a second job if you are required to produce content every single day (like you’re required to work every day at your job)

Therefore, if you’re scouting out how to start making money online

Do not overlook how it will integrate into your daily routine

Build something you can maintain for years

That’s how winning is done…

Happy Sunday,

Adam
