I hate getting messages like this

The other day I got a message that really pissed me off…

No, it wasn’t the one where my wife told me she spent $100 on a new pair of pyjamas (how good do you have to look while you’re sleeping???)

No, it wasn’t my mechanic telling me I had an expensive repair needed on my car (thank God!)

This message was from a long-time follower of mine

They sent me a message thanking me for all the information I share on Twitter (X) and told me how well-put together some of my past YouTube products have been

Naturally, I asked him how his channel was doing and I got the one answer that I hate to receive

He said, “I haven’t started my channel yet…”

Shortly after this conversation I checked when they originally bought some of my past books and courses

It was January 2024!

This individual had let 12 months go by without setting up a channel, selecting a niche let alone making a single video

Why this pisses me off is because of the opportunity cost incurred when staying on the sidelines

In that same time, this individual could have not only started their channel but began generating a modest income from YouTube by now

For example, as I shared on Tuesday, Tube Academy student Diego grew his channel to $20,000/mo in 2024

Imagine potentially missing out on this much extra money a month because you’re letting yourself continue to stay on the sidelines?

Fortunately, there’s a silver lining to this story

The end of each year is a time of reflection for most

It’s when we remember the best moments of the past year

Our shortcomings and what we aim to improve upon in the year to come

For those people who have been “thinking” about starting this entire year

I hope that 2025 is finally the year your YouTube channel starts to blossom

Because the worst thing anyone of us can do is let another year go by and find ourselves in the exact same situation as we are now…
