How to guarantee you don't make money on YouTube in 2025

Please do not make this mistake...

Imagine if you were picking your college degree today

You’re reading through the information pamphlets

And on the back page it shows each degrees job success rate

Accounting: 80%

Physics: 74%

Basketweaving: 20%

Chances are you wouldn’t be very inclined to choose the lowest job placement options

Why?

Because you’d be putting in 4 years only to be unlikely to get a job at the end

For most people, this thought process is very logical and chances are if you’ve gone to school you’ve literally had this internal conversation with yourself before…

Sadly, most people use this approach to lock down a quality degree

But they ignore it when it comes to their YouTube channels…

Many uninformed channel owners just pick a niche based on what they see online

Or choose a topic based on their general interests

Nothing wrong with this but there needs to be more rigor to the process…

In the same way where you would scout out job prospects for a degree

You need to identify monetization options for any niche you are considering entering into…

How do you do this?

Easy, you study pre-existing channels in your prospective niche

For example, let’s say you wanted to enter the economics niche

You would:

1. Identify role model channels

2. Review their videos for monetization opportunities

Here’s an example:

As we can see on this prominent economics channel, this channel is monetizing in multiple ways

You have the video earning ad revenue (monetization #1)

And it’s integrating a brand deal as seen by the video integration (monetization #2)

The good news, this process can be used in any niche where channels already exist (basically all of them!)

I advise that you ensure your prospective niche has at least 2 means of monetization

This ensures that your channel can reach greater levels of income

Which I’m assuming is the reason you’re starting your channel in the first place

Therefore, to ensure your YouTube journey has a path to financial success

Employ these steps before you get going and you’ll be on your way to some of that sweet YouTube money

Until tomorrow,

Adam
