The Hidden Benefit of Running Your Own YouTube channel

When you enter your 30s, you start to realize that this decade will be quite different than the last

For example, you now need more sleep than ever before

And a few drinks is enough to totally wreck your entire next day…

But what I’ve noticed the most is the declining amount of social opportunities

People are now extra busy with their jobs, families etc.

And that’s perfectly normal

It just means that when you get to connect with friends they are moments that you should cherish even more

And that leads me to the night I had a few Friday’s ago

My friend is a great athlete and he just completed another marathon in record time

To celebrate we all went over to his house for a party

What soon became evident amongst everyone there was that wedding season was in the air

3 out of 4 couples were engaged (myself included) with the host and his girlfriend being the odd man out

And so naturally the question came up as to when he would be joining us in fiancehood

While the prospect of being engaged was appealing, there was an issue…

If you’re in the same season of your life or know people who are then you’ll know that these companies aren’t exactly giving away engagement rings these days…

And so for him, being able to save $1,000s for a ring was not an easy task…

For the average person, it can take months or years to save up the amount of money to even buy the most modest of rings

So sadly, his desire to be engaged was outpacing the purchasing power of his bank account

As someone who just proposed last August, I understand the position he’s in

With the cost of living rising by the day, to be able to tackle another large expense is tough

Which is why I feel fortunate that I’ve been able to cultivate the skill of producing videos on YouTube that offers me another means of generating income

Instead of stressing over the ring cost, all I had to do was release another YouTube video

There was no giving up vacations, dining out or cancelling Netflix required

Just the uploading of videos on YouTube

So what’s this secret benefit?

It’s building a life where you can make money at will

And never be in the position where you have to give up your lifestyle

Just to be able to meet some of the financial obligations of life…
