Why Being DUMB Will Make You Rich on YouTube

Have you ever met someone half as smart as you

And then come to learn they make in a month what you earn in a year?

This only started happening to me when I joined the world of making money online

And it infuriated me to no end

But that’s not what this email is about

Because you probably don’t want to read an email about me complaining

You want to learn about how you can make cold, hard cash from YouTube

Which is where being “dumb” also comes into play…

While YouTube can be a complicated game, in many ways it’s quite simple…

See what’s working and emulate with your own spin or in your own way

That’s what I want to share an example of in today’s email…

Take the example channel Fight Focus

Currently sitting at roughly 700,000 views a month

One of its keys to success is identifying and employing high-performing video topics

Where do they find these topics?

From other niches…

This is a strategy I teach called “topic transfer”

Where you adopt proven topics from other niches and bring them into your own

For example, Fight focus made the video “The DUMBEST Moments In MMA”

A great topic generating almost 500,000 views…

If we look a bit closer we see that the “dumbest moments” topic is a proven winner…

But here’s the catch…

This strategy only works under two conditions…

The first is that the topic has yet to be explored in your niche

If you’re the 49th channel leaning on this topic then you have forgone first movers advantage

And won’t reap all the rewards that being first to market can provide

The second condition where this works is if your video on the topic (no matter the supply) is the best

This means better storytelling, production value, packaging etc.

In short, you either find blue ocean space or outcompete the existing content

And that’s how being dumb can make you rich on YouTube
