The CORRECT way to start getting more views on YouTube

Start doing this...

You've started your YouTube channel, and you're not exactly getting the results you thought you would.

Video after video, the results are rather underwhelming.

Eventually, you get to the point where you think to yourself, I must be doing this wrong.

Well, I hate to break it to you, but you probably are. The good news is that there’s a way to fix it.

You see, there actually is a correct way to start getting more views on YouTube. One of the ways you can do this is by employing the strategy I’m going to share with you today.

After working with hundreds of YouTube students, one of the most common mistakes I see them making is not packaging their videos in an intriguing enough way.

What’s unfortunate about this is that often, their videos are of high quality—they’re simply not making them enticing enough to the prospective viewer to generate any appreciable amount of views.

It’s kind of like having a Porsche but never being able to take it out of the garage.

If you’re feeling stuck and not gaining traction on your channel, here’s a simple and effective way to start getting more views right away.

One of the first people who got me into making money online was Pat Flynn.

Not only is he a genius when it comes to online marketing, but he’s also very adept at YouTube too.

There’s an example from his channel that I want to share with you, which will open your eyes to just how powerful a little bit of strategy behind your videos can be.

He recently released a video titled The Correct Way to Sell Anything Online.

For the average consumer of this video, how he packaged it probably means very little.

But for you, as someone looking to grow on YouTube, there are some powerful strategies being used that caused this video to be an outlier on his channel.

First, he’s using power words in his title and emphasizing them by capitalizing them.

In this case, we see that he’s capitalizing the word “correct,” which implies that there is a right way and a wrong way of selling things online.

However, the title magic doesn’t just stop there.

He also indicates that his methodology applies to selling anything online.

By using the word “anything,” it broadens the scope of the video to anyone selling online versus those who are selling a more narrow or specific item.

This automatically makes the video more broadly applicable and opens up the prospective audience it can reach.

So, just within a couple of words, Pat has already made his video much more accessible and enticing to a prospective viewer.

But the strategy behind this outlier video doesn’t just stop there.

When you look at his thumbnail, you’ll see that he has the traditional steps of making money online written out behind him.

The steps are: build an audience, set up an email list, and then sell through that list.

However, this commonly shared advice is crossed out, implying that this isn’t the way you should do things if you want to sell anything online.

As I’ve shared in past emails, using counterculture advice is a great way to entice prospective viewers because it breaks commonly held beliefs.

It’s this combination of a strong title, great packaging, and a very valuable video that has translated into over 50,000 views.

So, the next time you’re making a video, consider how you can add more intrigue to your packaging.

For instance, position your video to go against the grain or broaden the topic so that your video can potentially reach more people.

It’s these little tweaks in your packaging that can lead to drastic results.

Until tomorrow,

Adam
