If Your Channel Isn't Growing THIS Is Why

You are going to die…

Wait, what does that have to do with growing on YouTube?

Surprisingly more than you think…

As YouTubers we all want to get views, gain subscribers and make money

While these are all admirable goals it often blinds us to what’s most important

Serving those that watch our videos

What we often overlook is that a view isn’t just someone watching our video

A view is someone trading a piece of their life in exchange for the value that our video provides

When you look at it this way it becomes clear as to how consequential it is to make valuable videos

Put another way, the goal of a creator should be to create videos that viewers are happy to have traded their precious time to consume

If your channel is presently struggling to grow, ask yourself one question…

“How valuable are my videos?”

Think about a Mr. Beast video for example

The video is of high value due to its:

  • Extraordinary idea

  • High production value

  • High entertainment value

It’s for this reason that his videos garner 10,000,000s of views

I can already hear you saying to yourself

“Adam, I don’t have the (team/budget/experience) that Mr. Beast has”

The good news is that no one does

And yet numerous channels are making full-time incomes on YouTube

How? By producing high value content

Here are some example of high value videos and explanations of what makes them attractive to prospective viewers

Example 1: I Bought Ali Abdaal’s $1495 YouTube Course So You Dont Have To.

125,000 views with only 2,500 subscribers. But how?

One word - value.

Think about the value that this video offers

Viewers can trade 13 minutes of their time

In exchange for the main takeaways of a $1,495 course

Pretty good deal if you ask me

Plus for those who are far from being able to afford this high-ticket program

It gives them access to information that would never have been within reach

This high degree of value combined with significant appeal is that’s pushed this video to 100,000+ views and appreciable channel growth

Example 2: MrBeast being a YouTube Genius for 10 minutes straight

Just under 4 million views - a feat that few channels ever achieve

But how? Value…

How long do you think it would take you to compile all of Mr.Beast’s best advice from every single podcast, interview or video that he’s done?

Days, weeks, months?

Or you could just watch this 10 minute (actually 9:55) video and get those YouTube gems much more expeditiously

Given that we just went over how precious a viewers time is

Compacting high value information into a concise video is a powerful way to attract and retain viewers

Example 3: Asking A Billionaire How To Make $1,000,000

How many times have you interviewed a billionaire?

If you’re like me then the answer is 0.

But imagine how much wisdom a billionaire could give you

Well, because of Noah Kagan you don’t have to imagine

You just need to watch his interview of him and a billionaire on a private jet

The value of this video is not only the advice shared but the exclusivity of the experience

If you can’t enjoy the experience of a private jet in person you can piggyback off the one that comes with watching Noah’s video

So what’s the takeaway here?

No, it’s not that you have to find a billionaire to interview…

Before making a video ask yourself, “how much value does this video provide to my audience?”

If it would be a video they would undoubtedly watch then start producing

If not, go back to the drawing board because its only the most valuable videos that will move your channel forward

I hope today’s email shines some light on a common growth issue many YouTubers face

Until next week,

Adam
