3 Ways Your YouTube Channel Is Costing You Money...
If you hate losing money you need to read this...
Can we take a second and appreciate how wonderful it is to be alive in 2024?
I mean, think about it…
You can literally upload a video online and make $1,000s
Back in the day, to make that kind of money
Your granddad would have had to plow a field for weeks
And now you can upload an MP4 file to the internet and make 10x more…
Sadly, despite all of the opportunities that exist on YouTube
It can also be a costly affair…
In fact, there are three ways your YouTube channel is costing you money
And if you’re ignorant to them then your chances of success will be slim
Let’s go over what those costs are now…
Cost #1: Financial Cost
Easily the most obvious cost are financial costs
These can include setup costs like the purchasing of equipment
Or the outsourcing of videos just to name a few
Especially in the beginning, these can be hard to bare
As you’ve yet to start generating an income from your channel
Cost #2: Time Cost
No matter how you run your channel there will be an investment of time
If you’re running your channel as an operator then you’ll be investing 10s of hours a week making videos
If you’re running your channel as an owner then you will still need to oversee ideation and review your teams work from time to time
Time cost is one that people tend to discredit
Because for some reason, despite how valuable it is, we still take our time for granted
As if it’s some endless resource that we have access to…
But it’s not and so every hour that we pour into our channels is time we will never get back…
Cost #3: Opportunity Cost
This is a cost basically no one ever considers
So you should be happy you’ve made it this far in the email
If you have the right strategy and patience, you will end up getting monetized
And you will end up making money on YouTube
However, lacking the most direct path comes with significant opportunity cost
For example, it took me a couple years to scale up to $10,000/mo on YouTube
For specificity sake, let’s call it 24 months
Imagine I had the right growth and monetization guidance from the beginning?
Maybe I could have gotten there in 6 months instead
And made an extra $180,000 in that time
I bet you haven’t considered that cost yet, have you?
This is why learning how to do things properly from the beginning is crucial
It saves you $1,000s and 100s of hours making low performing videos (financial and time cost)
And allows you to start making money sooner (opportunity cost)
As you proceed on your YouTube journey, you should always remain aware of these costs
As their management will make or break how much your channel grows
And how much it ultimately makes
Until tomorrow,
Adam
