1,500,000 Views But Only $3,000/mo...

Imagine getting 1M+ views a month and not being able to live off of it...

You know what’s cruely unfair about life?

That more effort does not always lead to more results…

Take for example the job of a cashier and a financial advisor

The cashier can work 24 hours a day 7 days a week

And collect a weekly pay of $1,000

While the financial advisor can bring on one new client

Charge a 1% management fee and make $10,000s

I can speak to these realities having worked a cashier role before

And having very close family members in the financial advisory business

Sadly, the same predicament happens to take place on YouTube

Eager creators start their channel with the goal of making a part-time or full-time income

And many of them get quite good at generating views and building up an audience

But no matter how hard they work they never reach their income aspirations

Why?

Because they had been taking the wrong approach from the beginning

And were ultimately destined to fail…

Take for example the channel AniGod Recap

Right now this channel has 110,000 subscribers and is generating 1.5M views a month

And guess what?

It’s barely making any money…

I know what you’re thinking, “how could that be the case?”

Let’s break down the math

The Anime niche has an RPM of about $2

At 1.5M views a month that’s $3,000/mo in ad revenue

Now I know many people would be thrilled to make $3k/mo from YouTube

So I am not discrediting this channel’s success

But I think we can all agree that it’s pretty hard to live off $3,000

Especially when production costs are factored in

This is why I preach that you have a monetization plan in place before starting your channel

Otherwise you’re going to end up spendings months (or even years) building up your monthly views

Only to be capped at a few thousand dollars in earnings for all of your efforts…

As the saying goes “measure twice, cut once”

When starting on YouTube, this is certainly sound advice
