#1 Reason To Start A YouTube Channel (Not What You Think)

Here's why having a YouTube channel is so important...

It’s Friday afternoon and you’re excited to kickstart your weekend

But before you shut down your computer for the day you get a message from your boss

“Please come to my office - we have to talk”

All of a sudden, your heart starts to beat a little bit faster

After a brief discussion, your boss tells you that you’ve been let go…

In the span of 20 minutes, you went from being excited about the weekend

To now being in a position where you not only have no job but also no income…

Unfortunately, the working world can be quite cut throat

With companies prioritizing their own profits over the financial well-being of their employees

And because of this layoffs are becoming all too common

Leaving those who are victims to them in extremely precarious positions…

As someone whose built multiple successful YouTube channels I often get asked

“Why did you decide to start?”

This question becomes especially interesting to pose when people learn that I’m a CPA and have about 6 years of post-secondary schooling behind me…

The answer is simple - I never wanted to rely on one single stream of income

To me, the thought of having money coming in one day

And drying out to zero the next is terrifying (yes - I have a good amount of financial anxiety)

The craziest part is that I’ve felt this aversion to being financially fragile since I was in my early 20s

This means I didn’t have a house to carry

Nor do I have kids to take care of (which I hope to in the near future)

So while it’s great to want to build up a YouTube channel to make extra money to:

  • Buy a new car

  • Travel more often

  • Invest more for retirement

All things I’ve done with the money I’ve earned from YouTube

It’s really about never having to be without cash coming in

The cash you need to buy groceries, cover your mortgage or rent etc.

As I’ve mentioned before, the ultimate benefit is having financial control

So that if you get laid off or need to change jobs

It’s no big deal because you have a cashflowing digital asset that’s got you covered

Which for most people attainable in a shorter time period than they would expect

So if you’re like me and cringe at the throught of putting all your financial well-being in the hands of your employer

Let this be the sign you need to start taking action on building something of your own

I know I’m happy I did…
